Principal at Ethos Matters
Tara Holeman is Principal of Ethos Matters LLC, a corporate responsibility advisory firm. Ethos Matters works with companies, standards and certification bodies, private equity, and industry associations to identify and adopt strategies for social issues management in both corporate and procurement practices. This includes protections for the rights of direct employees and supply chain workers. She has conducted advisory and implementation projects for social standards in diverse sectors including agriculture, footwear, apparel and electronics manufacturing, fast-moving consumer goods, and health care.
Tara’s diverse experience includes seven years working in both Latin America and East Asia, where she focused on auditing and capacity building at the factory level. Tara has conducted social compliance auditing and managed social compliance audit programs for brands and industry bodies. She served as Vice President of Program Management and Quality at EICC (now Responsible Business Alliance), Vice President at Fontheim International, and Senior Operations Officer / Labor Specialist with IFC at the World Bank Group. She had prior human rights program management roles at Reebok, adidas, and Business for Social Responsibility.
Tara studied international law and human rights at The Fletcher School at Tufts University, where she obtained a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University and is fluent in English and Spanish.
